Rip Tides & Undercurrents
🌬
I wished the wind would wait but she just whizzed by
The drizzle was dreadfully dour when he met the mist
🕷
The listless fog hogged the hills like a blanket of bad lies
Just the morning dew held out hope as she sought the sun’s kiss
🕸
But his drifter’s gaze was galvanised by far horizons
His lazy eyes lost in time and dusty space
🕷
I praised her priceless pearls on shimmering spider’s lace
But her faith fizzled out in the haze and she sadly sighed
🕸
I raced to console her, I tried to cajole her, in vain
She cried to the rain and vanished without a trace
