Parting

I thought I saw her passing
Knitting multi-coloured marvels
Sneaking sly Ryvita slices
But I never saw her parting

Cooking pancakes for the lazies
Kinda thought I saw her passing
Dusty fingers dipped in flour
But I never saw her passing

Holding hands and sculpting scones
Ensconsed in jigsaws, books and bones
Could have sworn I saw her passing
But I never saw her parting

Nan’s bonanza got me gloating
Tuppence ha’penny’s worth o’ doting
Wish I’d caught the train she’s on
But I never saw it passing
