Metropolis

Metropolis marches, malevolent
Leaking steely bile
From expressionless façades
Stripping the skin of a motionless man
Subdued homo sapien
Court jesters dance
Peeing and praying
To the great money god

“Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
Although we’re still gonna screw
Those bastards who have trespassed against us.”

Now scuttle home poor grubbing ants
To two point four
Young mouths to feed
Collapse in ill-defined urban bliss
Until the incessant
Unappealing beeping
Wakes you from an easy sleep
To draw you back
To life
At Anonymous Inc.
